Originally from Columbia, SC, Nancy grew up doing gymnastics and dancing competitively. She trained in the styles of primarily classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, and musical theater under the instruction of Anita Ashley, Leigh Powell, Ann Kent, and Cindy Flach at Columbia Ballet School and with Devine Street Dance Company. Upon graduation from high school, Nancy continued dancing in college with Dance Alabama at the University of Alabama, multiple Student Choreography showcases at the University of South Carolina, and a student Dance Ensemble during graduate school at the University of Pittsburgh. Between undergrad and grad school, Nancy also danced with a small contemporary company called Transfusion Hype in Salt Lake City, UT for several years, performing locally in that region. Shortly after completion of her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2014, Nancy and her husband, Andrew, opened a small private outpatient physical therapy practice in South Carolina. Since that time, she has focused her efforts on building her clinical practice and creating what would become their 5th PT office back in her hometown of Columbia that is specific to the treatment of dancers and dance-related injuries, which opened in January of 2022. She is looking forward to a new opportunity to dance again and to getting back on the stage with Unbound this year!
