unbound dance company

Originally from Columbia, SC, Nancy began her dance training at Columbia Ballet School under Anita Ashley and Leigh Powell, where she performed and competed with CBS's Devine Street Dance Company for six years and was honored with the role of Myrtha in Giselle during her senior year of high school. She attended the University of Alabama as a Dance and Athletic Training major for one semester and was cast and performed in Dance Alabama's annual show. She then transferred to the University of South Carolina, where she switched majors to pre-physical therapy, but continued training at Columbia Ballet School and USC, auditioning and performing during multiple Student Choreography Showcases while in undergraduate studies. She also performed in several local theater productions with Town Theater prior to receiving her Bachelor's degree. She then moved to Salt Lake City, UT for several years, where she danced with Transfusion Hype, a local contemporary jazz company and taught dance in multiple styles at a small studio. Upon admission into University of Pittsburgh's Physical Therapy program, she performed with the Pittsburgh Dance Ensemble while completing her graduate school degree. Following receipt of her DPT, she and her husband started a private practice physical therapy company, which eventually took them back to Columbia in 2019. After having few opportunities to dance for close to 10 years, audition information for Unbound was shared with her through a friend for the 2022 season, and most recently, she was cast and performed in Unbound's last show, (in)finite, in August of 2022.
